w o o f f It's a typical day in Mud Town.

Lets Make "Mud" in Photoshop
for Bryce.

Chris Casady's Mud terrain making formula

This will be a crack up.
First we get down & dirty.
Once we get clay we can make Tiles.

this is a step by step visual walk through, just like on T.V. It's occurs within Photoshop
start with a gray field; to give the noise a good start. Noise wont occur well on pure black or white.
Hit it wtith some Gaussian Noise to give the next filter a good start.
Filter>Pixelate>Crystalize.

25 pixels worth

Filter>Stylize> Find Edges.
Image> Adjust> Levels. Squash the grays into black

At this stage you might want to make this into a SEAMLESS TILE . For a tutorial on that process go here for Painter or here for Photoshop

Invert and make two copies.
Blur one of the copies.
Load the sharp channel into the blurred channel as a selection and fill with black

YOU HAVE DRIED MUD.
It's a miracle. But is it a miracle of nature or mathematics
?

¡Now get me out of here!

The Reason this pages loads slow is because I nested tables inside tables. never do that.
